Flexible services for people with learning disabilities and autism

Work Skills

shuttlewood 005The  Work Skills service is for adults with learning disabilities who want to learn new skills which may help them find a paid or  a voluntary role in the future.        We offer  the chance to learn new skills, work in the community, become more confident, make new friends and even get a qualification where possible. We have established great links with local employers and we aim to provide whatever support is needed.

There is a choice of how many hours each day someone can access Work Skills. Services generally run between 9.00 a.m. and 4.30.p.m. each weekday.

There is a choice of Work Skills areas, such as catering in our Woodgate Chambers cafe, gardening, premises management or working in the e-bay shop. Each person joining the Work Skills team can choose where they work and when they work in advance.
