Flexible services for people with learning disabilities

Challenge Days

The aim of the Challenge Days is to give a group of adults the opportunity to get together socially and enjoy a day together in holiday time. They are supported by qualified, trained staff along with volunteers of similar age.

In 2012, the Challenge Days will  take place on 17 seperate days throughout the year. We have a maximum of 20 young adults aged 18 – 35 years, who may attend college courses, residential or other day care.
The group meet at Glebe House at 9.30am, returning at 3.30pm and usually need a packed lunch dependent on the day’s activity.

The group meet together on the first Thursday to discuss and decide upon the programme of activities for the rest of the meetings. Activities that have proved popular in the past are, bowling, cinema, visits to theme parks, pub lunches etc.
